This is a post from 3 years ago that I feel so strongly about, I wanted to put it out there again. "Informational christianity" is a "bust". The tree of the knowledge of good and evil can never save a soul. Only the Tree of Life can save a soul. It is said of the Bereans that, "they received the Word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Therefore many of them believed" (Acts 17:11 & 12) Notice, they didn't "search the commentaries". Of course, their "readiness", their ready hearts, testifies to the Holy Spirits plowing the soil, readying it for the Gospel Seed. Information that does not bring about Gospel Worship Behavior evidences that it came from the wrong tree!!! Only the Holy Spirit can produce Transforming Truth!
God's will and purpose is to bring all our behavior, all our thoughts and actions, our "conversation" as in the KJV, to be worship before and UNTO Him. He says "You shall not have any other God's before me." That means "in front of Him', in His Presence. There should be no motivation that grows from out of any source other than our relationship with Him. Anything less is to live in the death of this fallen world. Anything less is to lay up treasures where moth and rust corrupt. In the measure that we live unto Him in all that we are and do, in that measure, we bring eternity into our temporality, and in so doing, we glorify Him who made us for this purpose. Please do not think that I am speaking "religiously" here. No, I am talking about all ordinary life issues. As we grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, the outworking of our life should become "Spiritaneous". It is the Spirit's work!!!
