The Body of Christ Jesus our Lord!!!

The Body of Christ, our salvation depends upon it!  We celebrate this truth at each communion table.  The Apostle John “fleshes” out this truth in John 1:14:
“And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelled among us, and we beheld His Glory, the Glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of Grace and Truth.”
The Apostle Paul proclaims this God Who has a human body, that is, Who was made flesh, in Colossians 1:19, where he says of this Son of the Father’s love (1:13 NKJV), this “firstborn over all creation (1:15 NKJV):  “For it pleased the Father that IN HIM (the Firstborn over all creation) all the fullness should dwell.”  And in 2:9-10, lest we misunderstand what he means by “fullness”, after warning not to be cheated by philosophers and empty “worldly” religion, (vs 8) Paul makes his meaning plain: “For IN HIM (THE CHRIST) DWELLS ALL THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY!!!”
And the radical application of this truth is in the next verse, “and you are complete IN HIM”!!!!!
I believe the professed church of Jesus Christ has not heeded Paul’s warning in Colossians 2:8.  It’s dedication to temples made with hands (see Acts 17:24-25), a “fleshly felt needs gospel”, and the god of success worshiped almost everywhere, manifests the “cheat”!  Empty philosophy’s and worldly principles rule the day in the “church”!  So many who name the Name of Christ are “incomplete”.  Their fleshly frustration is because there is little to no emphasis on “discerning the Lord’s body”!  Our completeness, our sanctification, our fullness is only IN HIM IN WHOM DWELLS ALL THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY!!!
Our Lord uttered those shocking words in John 6:53, “Then Jesus said to them, Most assuredly, I say unto you, UNLESS YOU EAT THE FLESH OF THE SON OF MAN AND DRINK HIS BLOOD, YOU HAVE NO LIFE IN YOU!!!”  His Body is the source of our Eternal Life.  Feasting on this truth is the source of our spiritual fullness.  Remember how radical this truth was when Jesus spoke it? Most of His disciples departed.  I pray that you will not “go away”, but will stay with the Only One Who has the Words of Life. (John 6:67-69) I pray we will “hear and learn from the Father” and come increasingly to Feast on His Jesus!!!
THE BODY OF CHRIST IS THE GOLDEN THREAD THAT TIES TOGETHER ALL OF THE FATHER’S WILL AND PURPOSE IN CREATION AND IN ALL ETERNITY. (Ephesians 1:3-12)

Corrective "Vision" from the Lord's Table

Feasting at the Lord’s Table brings a Spiritual focus to all of Scripture.  It washes out our ego centric approach to the Word of the Lord. I believe we see this in the Emmaus visitation with two disciples who were bemoaning the death of him they hoped would become their national deliverer. (Luke 24:13-32)  Jesus walked with them and expounded all the OT scriptures concerning Himself.  But it wasn’t until He broke bread at a meal that their eyes were opened, “And they knew Him.”  Now I am not suggesting the Lord served the elements of His Table with them, but He broke the emblem of the fact that He was the Bread of Life.  Remember the breaking the bread and fish for five thousand that was the setting for His “Bread of Life” discourse” and His command to “eat My Flesh and drink My Blood”?  And the result in Emmaus?  The disciples self centered disappointed nationalistic desire was banished in the personal recognition of Him Who IS the Bread of Life.  And that is the Divine Focus that should confront us every time we sit at His Table.  It is purposed by our Heavenly Father to draw us out of our little kingdoms of human need and bring us into the abundant supply of Divine Sacrificial Love that is unveiled in the tearing apart of the God/Man’s flesh for His People.(Hebrews 10:19-22)

Our Lord's Body and Blood

The Emblems and Focus of the Lord’s Table are the Fountain from which an unending stream of Gospel Truth flows.  All that is the believer’s hope and reality is “embodied” in this commanded observance.  It is not a mere “ordinance”, and though it is commanded by our Lord, it’s fulfillment isn’t in just doing the command, but in the thanksgiving and worship that grow out of almost any understanding gleaned in being humbled before it.  I have chosen only one truth to consider as we “eat” the Body of Christ and “drink” His Blood as He said in John 6:53-58.  If we have no hunger or thirst for His Body and Blood, if we don’t come and believe and marvel at all that is portrayed in this thanksgiving service(John 6:35), we have no life, eternal life, in us.
Here is but one example of humbling truth that is found in feasting on our Jesus.  We come to a perpetual funeral service each time we gather around these two emblems of our Lord and His Sacrifice for us.  Oh, it is not His funeral, it is ours.  It is to be a constant reminder that when He died, we died. Our baptism declares this.  Continual presence before this table increasingly solidifies our grasp of our union with Him in His death, burial and resurrection.  Romans 6:4=baptism.  Romans 6:5=our union with Him in His Death is our assurance we are united with Him in His Resurrection.  Romans 6:6-7=our assured victory in our ongoing battle with sin (and the world, flesh and the devil).
And Romans 6:8 turns our focus to living out the life of our indwelling Lord each and every day. Either Christ is our Life, or He is nothing Eternal to us.  Galatians 2:20 spells this out plainly.  “I am crucified with Christ (ALL that I was died with Him, not just what I think is the bad stuff.  Before the bar of God’s Righteousness, it is all bad, dead in sin.) nevertheless I LIVE; yet not I, but Christ Liveth in me: and the life which I now live IN THE FLESH (in my mortal body) I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.”   The verse doesn’t say “I was crucified”, but “I am crucified”, for His once done crucifixion is worked out moment by moment by the Holy Spirits continual “enfleshing Christ in His people”.  And that is ONLY by FAITH in His Blood and Body being the only Body that the Father receives as satisfactory payment for my (even ongoing) unrighteousness.  Our Jesus makes us His House (Hebrews 3:6), he doesn’t rehab our old one!!  Continual presence at His Table is an essential aid to enable us “hold fast this confidence and rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.”

A Clear Conscience before the Father

Romans chapter 1 & 2 tells us that all of mankind is guilty before our Creator and God has given man two constant witnesses to that fact, Creation and conscience.  Hebrews 10 teaches us that the only the only body we can come to, the only means to procure a clean conscience and a pure heart is the Body of our Lord that was prepared for Him by our Father, the only One Who Lives continually in the Delight to do His Father's Will. His Divinely prepared human Body is the only body, the only Human that could bear the penalty for man's unrighteousness and procure Righteousness for those who come to Him and believe in Him, That is our grace standing before our Holy Father, our only door into His Presence both now and forever!!!

So much more that a "get out of hell free" Card!!!

Man was created into a sustaining relationship with his Creator God. He was created to be God's humble obedient gardener/landscaper of God's incredible created Earth, continually enjoying the bounty of a loving, Gracious God. But man in the only truly free will choice any human has ever made, fell before the LIE of his own exaltation to be as God.
The whole will and purpose of God to restore a people to that relationship, is couched and very intimate terms in the book of Ephesians where we read that it's all about the Father adopting children to Himself through his beloved Son. Beyond mere gardeners and “subdoers”, the Father chose a family for himself, out of the devastation of fallenness. And Ephesians states that his will and purpose was actually accomplished in his mind and will before the foundation of the Earth. In Hebrews chapter 2, verses 12 -15 we see that the Father gives His Chosen adopted children to His Son, and that He gave His Son a specially prepared Body of flesh and blood like theirs (Heb. 10:5-20). The how of this is described from creation through fall to Jesus in Hebrews 2, verses 5-11.
You see, we don't just get saved, from hell or anything else. We rather are saved unto the Eternal Sustaining Relationship of being made the intimate adopted children of the Holy Father, our Creator God. Sustaining relationship with our Father becomes the controlling operational Bond in which we live and move and have our being, for now and eternity. It is in this operational Bond that we grow in Grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ which is growing up into him in all things, that we may truly be made in the Image of the Triune God.  It is in this operational bond that we wrestle with our sin. It is the operant member of the triune godhead, God's spirit, who ferrets out our sins and delusions and drives us to bathe in the blood of Jesus and to trust solely in his perfect divinely prepared nail scarred body, all our days on this fallen Earth. It is in that faith that trusts alone in the perfect man made like us, that just happens to be our Creator and Sustainer through Whom we can rest in the fact that there is nothing between our soul and our Savior, and therefore our Father. And this is the continual ministration of the precious Spirit to our souls as our Comforter and Preserver.

Christ's Transfiguration and Ascension

HI                                 HIS ASCENSION AND OUR UNION

“And it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.” Luke xxiv. 51

We have no corresponding experience to the events in Our Lord’s life after the Transfiguration. From then onwards Our Lord’s life was altogether vicarious. Up to the time of the Transfiguration He had exhibited the normal perfect life of a man; from the Transfiguration onwards – Gethsemane, the Cross, the Resurrection – everything is unfamiliar to us. His Cross is the door by which every member of the human race can enter into the life of God; by His Resurrection He has the right to give eternal life to any man, and by His Ascension Our Lord enters heaven and keeps the door open for humanity.

On the Mount of Ascension the Transfiguration is completed. If Jesus had gone to heaven from the Mount of Transfiguration, He would have gone alone; He would have been nothing more to us than a glorious Figure. But He turned His back on the glory, and came down from the Mount to identify Himself with fallen humanity.

The Ascension is the consummation of the Transfiguration. Our Lord does now go back in His primal glory; but He does not go back simply as Son of God; He goes back to God as SON OF MAN as well as Son of God. There is now freedom of access for anyone straight to the very throne of God by the Ascension of the Son of Man. As Son of Man Jesus Christ deliberately limited omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience in Himself. Now they are His in absolute full power. As Son of Man Jesus Christ has all power at the throne of God. He is King of kings and Lord of lords from the day of His Ascension until now.

God Rules in His Providence

5/16/2021

From a year ago:  I've heard that wearing masks in China has been a blessing in disguise (LOL), for the Christians there. It has thwarted China's facial recognition cameras that are throughout the land, allowing them to move more freely then they normally can. Reminds me of when Mao in his egotism, wanted the masses to be able to read his Little red book of perverted wisdom. He sent teachers throughout the land to teach people to read. And of course, among the most literate were Christians. And in that way the sovereign God spread the truth of his redeeming love through Jesus throughout the country. And estimates say there are more Christians in China than communists. And remember the masterful Romans roads? It was those roads that enabled the early missionaries to spread the gospel throughout what is now Europe. And you think God is thwarted by a mere stay-at-home order? Not on your life. "With God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37  This verse is not a cliche, it is an everyday occurance in the Providence of our Sovereign Loving God!!!

This site has been up since 2009.  My life has changed.  The world has changed.  The "professed church" has changed.  It seems time to address the "brevity of the age".  It seems we have become to the "meme" generation.  There is much of value on this site, but it is lengthy and most wont give it the time to read and meditate upon it.  Having said all of that, I am going to be giving my attention to the "blog" format.  The blog, sonofhislove, has been moved to the lead item and I will begin posting to it on a regular basis, my own thoughts, provocative thoughts from old saints, and whatever else the Lord lays upon my heart.  Hope all will benefit from the change.
