There are many facets of revelation that I could bring forth that are lacking in the consistant teaching of today, God's Sovereignty, the Fear of God, the truth of Perseverance based upon God's Preserving Grace, even a clearer presentation of Grace itself. I could probably fill this page with such difficiencies, all of which I have been guilty in over thrity years of teaching the Word of God. I could speak of the presentation of our supposed gospel that starts with man's need, fulfills man's need, and seems to end with promises of "being warmed and blessed". It would appear that it's all about man, but God and His Jesus merely stand ready to help. I digress.
A recent study of the book of Acts, the Acts of the Holy Spirit, has hit me right between the blind eyes. It is apparent that the Resurrection of our Blessed Jesus is the very core of the Gospel!!! The Apostles were to be witnesses of our Jesus' Resurrection. This truth is borne out throughout the book and I have listed them on the page, The Resurrection, the Power of the Gospel. Please consider the scripture on this page, be as the Bereans, (who were faithful OT Jews and Jewish proselytes) and see if these things are so! I haven't begun to plumb the depths of the Scriptures regarding God's Resurrection Power in His Blessed Son Raising from dead, the grave of our hopelessness, This is what releases us from the bondage of death that has shackled our every move until this Powerful Intervention. But let's start with the Book of Acts and the Apostolic Gospel clearly stated there, the first "Christian" sermon being that marvel of the Christ denying Peter, now a Spirit filled witness to this Resurrection. This Man Jesus--"Him, being delivered by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; Whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it." (Acts 2:22-36)
Remember the words of Paul, "That I may know Him, and the power of His Resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable to His death, if by any means I might attain to the resurrection of the dead." (Phil. 3:10-11)
The church has majored on Christ's death, perhaps because we are so bound by death, and I am in no way minimizing His Death, for heaven's sake! That God should come and take on flesh like mine and die for a wretch like me, how else could I see the Love of God in it's Marvel! But any man could have died! We all die. But only One Man could have raised from the dead, only One Man possesed the Glory of the Father, (Rom. 6:4) and our hope is anchored in His Victory! And in that Resurrection we see the Ultimate Power of the Eternal Loving God. Oh that I may know Him and the Power of His Resurrection!!!
