On this day of tradition, please ponder the Biblical & Spiritual significance of the true historical event. This should commemorate the day that the Holy Righteous Fearsome God of Glory took upon Himself the likeness of sinful flesh (John 1:14-18; 1 John 1:1-4; Romans 8:3) through the lowly birth of His Son, the Son Who came to die,(John 3:16) die for the sins of a continually sinful people. And not just die, but to pay the penalty for the sins of His People, a penalty required by the very nature of the God Who IS Eternally Righteous & Just! (Romans 3:21-26)
And all Praise be to God, none of this ends at the cross! God raised Him up, this Man/God Who could die and live to tell about it! (Acts 1:1-3; 13:28-38) And not just Resurrection, but Ascension to the Right Hand of the Father, the Place of Peace & Rest for those He died for. "Therefore, He is able to save to the uttermost THOSE WHO COME TO GOD THROUGH HIM, SINCE HE LIVES FOREVER TO MAKE INTERCESSION FOR THEM." (Hebrews 7:25) This is the Throne of the Ultimate King Who is also our Great High Priest, always praying as a Man Eternally United to Deity.(John 1:1-13) It is the Throne that is full of Mercy and overflowing with Grace! (Hebrews 4:14-16) So what are we to do? "Jesus answered and said unto them, 'this is the work of God, THAT YOU BELIEVE ON HIM WHOM HE SENT.'"
